Assessing the potential for novel contraceptives in Sub Saharan Africa and Asian market

01/07/2015

A webinar sharing the results of recent market research conducted by Ipsos Suisse SA and funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Product attribute trade-off and market simulation research approaches were used to assess preference for potential novel contraceptive products among women in Nigeria, Kenya, Senegal, Bangladesh and Uttar Pradesh, India. Demand results and private sector modeling techniques were applied to forecast uptake of the products, identifying those with the greatest potential for uptake. These results were assessed vis-à-vis current awareness, attitudes and usage across markets to clarify differences across markets and identify profiles of women most preferring different contraceptive products.
