Girls on the Move graduate

Thirty-six young women celebrated the completion of their eight-month supply chain management (SCM) internships with hospitals, hotels, and other public and private sector agencies in Kisumu County, Kenya, and Nairobi. Developed and managed by Pamela Steele Associates (PSA), the Girls on the Move program was designed to bridge the gap between education and employment, and 13 graduates have been offered full-time employment by their mentor-employers. The interns received certificates signed by the Governor of Kisumu at a ceremony attended by County Ministers for Education, for Health, and for Gender, Youth and Sport. Several employers are in discussion with PSA for future support of young female interns in SCM, and PSA is looking at opportunities for scale-up.
