Landmark development for mifepristone in Argentina

Argentina’s national laboratory — Laboratorios Santa Fé LIF — has become the first manufacturer in the LAC region to start producing mifepristone, building on RHSC-supported market assessment work for medical abortion drugs in Argentina, carried out by the Concept Foundation and CEDES Argentina. Next steps will involve obtaining approval from the national regulatory body, ANMAT. Mifepristone is available in 795 public health outlets in Santa Fe.
